Creative Revolution

Ché Stevenson is a small business owner with a very clear goal. He wants his full-service digital marketing agency, Creative Revolution, to be the biggest and best business of its kind in Bendigo within five years. Ché is very outcome-focused and likes to work side-by-side with his clients. To put himself in their shoes, he and his team undertook a Small Business Victoria Workshop to help him develop a strategy to take his business online.

After studying graphic design and working in a series of jobs where he says he learnt a lot but felt "slightly unfulfilled", Ché came to a crossroads; either go down the corporate path or leverage his experience and start working for himself.

In 2010, he started freelancing as a consultant, then bit the bullet in 2015 and opened his own business, Creative Revolution, with staff, premises and all the responsibilities involved.

The business is now one of Central Victoria's leading creative agencies. It specialises in a strategic and commercial approach to provision of digital marketing services, new and updated websites, branding, social media management and other graphic design or creative services.

We like to work closely with our clients as an extension of their team. Delivery is how you build trust and ongoing relationships.

'Once we get a project or campaign onboard, we work hard to get the best results. It's very gratifying to see a clearly definable result and to be a key contributor to our clients' growth.'

'We operate in an industry with lots of growth potential for our clients.

'To be able to understand how we can work more closely with them so that their delivery expectations are not only met, but are exceeded, has always been important to us.'

Ché says that his biggest business challenge has always been delivery.

Creative Revolution is always looking for ways to better ‘get inside their clients’ heads’ to better see how their strategic and creative input can be optimised.

To help better understand their client base and its knowledge of the digital world, Ché and his team undertook the Small Business Victoria Workshop, Develop Your Online Strategy.

He says that the workshop gave them a deeper appreciation of ‘where our typical small business customer is at on their digital journey’ and the workshop leader was knowledgeable. They now use those learnings to better service clients and build stronger, more informed relationships.

'The workshop gave us a better baseline of what our client group knows, what they don’t know and what their expectations are.'

Since completing the workshop, Ché and his team are concentrating on further developing a business where their goals are their clients’ goals.

Creative Revolution’s ethical, hard-working approach has won them lots of new and ongoing work and, in 2016 they took out the Excellence in Strategy for Online Presence in Bendigo Award at the Bendigo Business Council’s 2016 Bendigo Business Excellence Awards.

'Business in Australia is becoming less capital city-centric. It means that small agencies like ours that are based in regional areas are getting smarter and better equipped to service clients who can be anywhere.  With the sort of help we got from the workshop, we’re building our own business so we are able to take on the competition and become better known for delivering great results with solid informed thinking.'
